Verizon on Thursday is taking part in protection towards a report that it was not involved in carrying Google’s Pixel line of phones, together with the upcoming rumored Pixel 4A and Pixel 5 which can be anticipated to be launched this yr.

“It’s not true,” Verizon spokeswoman Adria Tomaszewski informed CNET. “We continue to work with Google and look forward to the new portfolio of devices.”

Verizon was reportedly placing an “indefinite hold” on plans to promote the Pixel, in keeping with Android Police. The web site speculated that the choice might be as a consequence of poor gross sales of Google’s handsets in comparison with rivals similar to Apple’s iPhones and Samsung’s Galaxy phones

The service has been promoting the Pixel for the reason that line’s preliminary launch in 2016. The Pixel 4A, a successor to final yr’s extra inexpensive Pixel 3A, is rumored to reach within the coming months. Google often updates its predominant Pixel line within the fall, which is when a possible Pixel 5 could arrive.

Google did not instantly reply to a request for remark.
