Amazon Prime Video to cut streaming bitrates to mitigate network congestion amid higher consumption

NEW DELHI: Amazon Prime Video has begun efforts to cut back streaming bitrates to assist mitigate community congestion amid increased consumption as varied cities within the nation are in lockdown to include the unfold of coronavirus.

“In India, where we’ve already begun the effort to reduce streaming bitrates whilst maintaining a quality streaming experience for our customers,” the spokesperson stated.

While Netflix didn’t reply to the question, an organization blogpost on March 21 had stated it has deployed a method to scale back Netflix’s site visitors on networks within the European Union by 25 per cent, in response to a request from the EU.
