Airtel, Jio, Voda Idea submit applications for 5G trials; Huawei partners with 2 telcos

NEW DELHI: Telecom operators Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea have submitted their functions for 5G trials, trade sources mentioned. Airtel has joined arms with Huawei, ZTE, Ericsson and Nokia for 5G trials within the nation, whereas Jio has partnered Samsung, sources mentioned.

Last month, Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had mentioned the federal government will allocate airwaves to all telecom service suppliers for conducting trials of super-fast velocity 5G community. India is not going to bar any tools suppliers within the upcoming trials for 5G.
